• Own product architecture and delivery plan (what ships, how it ships, what is gated)
• Design and implement core backend patterns: idempotency, retries, dedupe, audit trails, and access control
• Build across the stack as needed (backend + web console + integration support)
• Set engineering standards: code review discipline, branching strategy, CI/CD rules, release checklists
• Work closely with Settlement & Reconciliation, Risk/Fraud Ops, Collections, and Field Sales to translate real operations into product workflows

• 5+ years building and shipping production software
• BSc/HND in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline or equivalent senior-level delivery experience (multiple production systems shipped).
• Strong system design and architecture skills, with hands-on coding capability
• Strong backend fundamentals: SQL schema design, transactions, API design, security
• Proven record of owning delivery under pressure (launches, incidents, tight timelines)
• Strong judgment: understands tradeoffs between speed and safety
