Nutrition & Health Programme Manager Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger. For almost 45 years, across countries, we have been working to fight undernutrition and support communities affected by crisis across the globe. We carry out innovative, lifesaving programs in Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) and Social Protection. Action Against Hunger Nigeria (ACF Nigeria) LTD/GTE began operations in Nigeria in 2010 in response to the high rate of chronic malnutrition in Northern Nigeria, focusing on integrated programming. Action Against Hunger currently implements multi-sectoral humanitarian and development interventions in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria, funded by AFD, EU/ECHO, French Government, GAC, GFFO, SIDA, US Government, and WAM Foundation.

ACF Nigeria is seering to a highly qualified Nutrition and Health Programme Manager (PM) to oversee the implementation of the Nutrition Project in Mobbar LGA. The role entails comprehensive management of project operations, including supervision of personnel, budget oversight, logistical coordination, and execution of detailed work plans. The Programme Manager will lead and coordinate all phases of the project life cycle, ensuring effective delivery and timely reporting in alignment with the project’s established scope, schedule, resource allocation, quality benchmarks, risk mitigation strategies, representation responsibilities, coordination mechanisms, and contractual commitments. In addition, the Programme Manager will provide strong technical guidance, strategic leadership, and direction to the Nutrition team to ensure high‑quality programme outcomes and full adherence to organizational principles, donor expectations, and sector‑wide standards.

Work location: Damasak, Borno State

  • Ensure projects are implemented in line with donor proposals and requirements and in accordance with Action against Hunger, country and international standards;
  • Finalize and manage the update and implementation of the detailed Project(s) Implementation Plan (PIP) and project operational plan;
  • Develop detailed monthly/weekly implementation plans for project staff in order to achieve the activities in the PIP;
  • In collaboration with the Nutrition and Health HOD, support the development of strategies addressing the problems linked to malnutrition in the Northwest region;
  • In collaboration with Nutrition and Health HOD/DHOD ensure continued review of remote management strategy based on the evolving context, work closely with relevant Government agencies to ensure quality in implementation of remotely managed programs, when required;
  • Jointly with the SPHCDA and the LGA health authorities promoting and supervising high quality care for clients of the OTP/SC Sites supported by ACF Nigeria;
  • Monitoring the system of data collection concerning the Primary Health Care Services provided at the ACF supported health facilities as a basis for the evaluation and furtherance of the programme;
  • Initiate and oversee needs and technical assessments and analysis, as well as preparing the follow up reports in coordination with the Project Coordinator, HoD/DHoD Nutrition and Health, M&E HoD/DHoD and DCDs;
  • In keeping with the policy of ACF as a learning organisation, contributing to building on good practice, experience, and assessments, and working with the nutrition officers to ensure proper documentation of all aspects of the nutrition interventions;
  • Taking part in the recruitment of staff in collaboration with the HR Manager in the base and the Area Coordinator;
  • Collaborate ACF HR and SPCHDA HR for the recruitment and posting of seconded Health workers at ACF supported health facilities;
